Assistant Manager

Summary of Position

Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations.  This includes but is not limited to scheduling, training and supervising employees.  Also, assist the Store Manager in achieving store profitability, budget, expense control, inventory levels, shortage control, customer service and safety.  Responsible for managing the store in the Store Manager's absence and/or has responsibilities as a second shift Manager.

  • Be able to achieve performance standards as required with respect to: store computer, POS machines, cash registers, equipment and particular systems in operation at the location
  • Be able to meet the physical demands such as walking, lifting, handling boxes, talking and seeing
  • High school diploma with some college experience preferred, or experience in retail and management
  • Be able and willing to be promoted and to assume all Managerial repsonsibilities up to company standards without notice
  • Prior retail experience, preferably through an understanding and working knowledge of the operation and marketing of a QUICKWAY or other convenience store
  • Deal with pressure and work quickly with a strong desire to succeed
